How it works

Priority-based matching for real city-to-city trips.

Passengers request routes. Drivers post seats. The matcher runs 24/7 and checks the strongest route fit available without forcing people to coordinate everything manually.

Matching signals

What the matcher actually checks.

The point is to make matching understandable, not mystical.

Request order comes first so earlier requests are prioritised fairly.

Pickup and drop-off compatibility keeps riders close to the route they actually need.

Departure timing and seat count determine whether a route is still workable.

Nearest viable driver route helps avoid long detours or awkward handoffs.

Passenger flow

  1. 1Request a city-to-city ride, choose your pickup and drop-off points, and submit your timing.
  2. 2The matcher looks for a verified driver whose route, timing, and seats fit your request.
  3. 3Share the trip with a guardian or next of kin if someone needs visibility while you travel.
  4. 4Board with your pickup PIN, complete the trip, and rate the experience afterwards.

Driver flow

  1. 1Post the route you are already driving, including city pair, timing, seats, and pickup points.
  2. 2The matcher watches for passengers whose request fits your route and timing.
  3. 3Confirm each boarding passenger with a trip-specific PIN before departure.
  4. 4Complete the trip and keep most of each confirmed seat fare after Hikingspot's 5% fee.
