Why Hikingspot uses a 4-digit PIN boarding system

5 March 20263 min read

Pickup can be messy on long-distance routes. A simple PIN helps passengers and drivers confirm the right trip.

A pickup point can be busy, especially on long-distance routes. Hikingspot's 4-digit PIN gives passengers and drivers a simple way to confirm that the right person is boarding the right trip.

After matching, the passenger receives a trip-specific PIN. At pickup, the passenger gives the PIN to the driver. The driver confirms the PIN before departure.

The PIN is not a guarantee by itself, but it reduces confusion and creates a clearer boarding step. Combined with verified drivers, guardian links, trip status, and ratings, it supports a more accountable trip.
